A recap of 2021 | Looking back on a fruitful year
Expanding our team
In May 2021, we welcomed Anne-Sophie Derriks to GT Invest, a recruitment that coincided with our first acquisition in the swimming pools sector that Anne-Sophie is fully committed to today. A month later, Laurent Van Damme joined the team as our digital project manager, with Delfien De Backer and Liana De Vlieger following soon after that as our management assistant and business analyst respectively.
With this expansion, GT Invest offers the necessary expertise and capacity to its portfolio companies and we can continue to focus on acquisitions in the swimming pool sector.
Start-up of Poolspot
In the spring, we made a first acquisition with JDS Pools in the swimming pools sector, a sector that is experiencing strong growth due to - among other things - the pandemic, the persistently low interest rates and the better weather conditions in Belgium. This development also leads to a proliferation of swimming pool installers, with or without a professional background.
Our ambition to become the undisputed market leader in Flanders quickly resulted in three consecutive takeovers: Intrapools, De Zwemwereld and the webshop groenvoordeel.be.
Poolspot, operating under the commercial names JDS Pools, Intrapools, De Zwemwereld and Swimmingpoolvoordeel.be, has developed into the most professional swimming pool group in Flanders in 2021 and has the ambition to install around 400 swimming pools by 2022 and to relieve a customer portfolio of more than 4,000 customers in maintenance and technical interventions.
What's next?
In addition to Poolspot, Metavan and Group Caus, we are looking forward to further expanding our business portfolio in 2022.
