Joren has more than eight years of experience with balance sheets, P&Ls and forecasts. He takes on the role of CFO in our projects and is our in-house financial analyst

Why did you choose GT Invest?

Because I fully believe in the concept and vision of GT Invest. We go further than just investing in companies, and effectively take on the responsibility to optimise these companies even further. Being part of the GT Invest team gives me the chance to participate in the first line of business in various companies in different sectors. After seeing many companies pass by 'on paper' for a long time, I am now much more closely involved in the effective day-to-day operations of the companies. And this isn't limited to one company, because I work with several companies. That variety is a big plus.

What are your top skills?

My most important skills are my analytical and numerical insight. I'm good at analysing problems/issues, converting them into clear questions, solving them using the necessary (numerical) foundation, and converting them into understandable advice. I'm also very flexible. I don't need a fixed schedule and can easily switch from one assignment to another one that's suddenly more urgent (even if it wasn't on the schedule).

What was your first job ever?

Not including my student jobs (that would have been the ice cream seller on the beach), my first job was as a 'tax adviser'. I continued to do this until I chose GT Invest, but with quite a lot of variation within this job over time.

What else do you do, besides working (far too hard) for GT Invest?
